August 10th, 2006

12:30 pm
I've been working hard on my room this morning, but right now I feel like I just need to sit down and chill for a few minutes. Couldn't have anything to do with the painful swollen gland that I've had on my neck since last week, could it? For the past four years the glands on the left side of my neck have stopped swelling up when I'm sick, so the right side does double duty. I don't know why this happened, but doctor's don't seem to have a problem with it. But owwwww.

Tiger has been hanging out on my bed and occassionally following me around. He's sixteen but is as cute and affectionate as ever. Except for the fact that he has taken to screaming at me in the middle of the night to announce his presence, even if he just wants to curl up at the foot of my bed rather than getting petted. He's always had a loud meow, but now that he's deaf, the volume control is really turned off. He stands there and puts his whole body into it, like a lion roaring. On the flip side, he's taken to cooing when he purrs.

Last night I finally flipped and got really stressed about the volume of stuff that I have to go through while I'm here. It's also going to take a lot longer just because I have no room in which to spread out. And I have people to see and no time to see them, and if I'm really getting sick that further complicates things. Let's hope it's not Lyme Disease.

Anyone know where I can get rid of a six-year-old but decently functional iMac? I've been looking around for charities and individuals in need of a computer, but no one's responded yet. I'll be the first to admit that it's a piece of shit, but if I'm giving it away, there must be someone who can use it, yes?

One night over vacation, I was spotting bats flying over the lake pretty frequently, and seemed to have a much easier time noticing them than my family. Sweet. In the little bit of time I've had outside back home I've worked on stalking and awareness. In the process of cleaning out my room yesterday I found a whole bunch of rocks whose significance was lost to me, so I went outside to set them free. That was quite a nice walk, although I came back with at least two ticks.
Current Mood: sicksick
Current Music: I wanna drive a Zamboni!
